Author Guidelines


Author(s) are requested to carefully read all the instructions before submitting a manuscript to the Journal of Information & Communication Technology (JICT).

  • Manuscripts submitted to Journal of Information & Communication Technology (JICT) should be in English and electronically submitted to Open Journal System (OJS)
  • The manuscript will be checked on Plagiarism Detection Software (Turnitin) for its similarity index which should be less than 19% and similarity of single source must be less than 5%. Further Self Plagiarized manuscript shall not be published.
  • The manuscript will go through Blind Peer Review process by National & International Reviewers as per the guidelines of HEC.
  • Acceptance of the manuscript may be given to the author(s), on the specific request, subject to the approval by Editor-in-Chief.
  • Authors are required to provide an undertaking/ declaration stating that the manuscript under consideration contains solely their original work that is not under consideration for publishing in any other journal in any form. Further, a manuscript that is co-authored must be accompanied by an undertaking explicitly stating that each author has contributed substantially towards the preparation of the manuscript in order to claim right to authorship.
  • Manuscripts by Editor and Editorial Board members shall not considered for publication.
  • The manuscripts submitted must be in line with scope of the journal and its contents must be of high quality.

  • Self institutional manuscripts shall be published as per the guidelines provided by the HEC.


    Title Page

    This page should contain the full title of the paper and complete names, affiliations, adesses, phone and fax numbers, and e-mail adesses of all authors. The contact author should be indicated.


    The abstract must be a concise yet comprehensive reflection of what is in your article. In particular: The abstract must be self-contained, without abbreviations, footnotes, or references. It should be a microcosm of the full article. The abstract must be between 150-250 words. Be sure that you adhere to these limits; otherwise, you will need to edit your abstract accordingly. The abstract must be written as one paragraph, and should not contain displayed mathematical equations or tabular material.The abstract should include three or four different keywords or phrases, as this will help readers to find it. It is important to avoid over-repetition of such phrases as this can result in a page being rejected by search engines.


    All papers must contain keywords or index terms. They are provided by the authors. They should be provided in alphabetical order and as a final paragraph of the abstract section.

    Illustrations and Multimedia

    The Proceedings is eager to publish color illustrations, especially in those cases where color enhances technical details and understanding; there is no additional cost to the author for publishing color figures. Image quality is very important in how the graphics will reproduce. Ilma accepts PostScript (PS), Encapsulated PostScript (EPS), Portable Document Format (PDF), Portable Network Graphics (PNG), or Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) for graphics submissions. Only when graphic was originally awn in the program is it acceptable to submit Microsoft Office Documents (DOC, PPT, XLS). High-resolution JPGs are acceptable for author photos only.     Photographs and Biographies

    Authors photographs and biographies are published in conjunction with papers. They can be provided after acceptance of a paper. Biographies should not exceed 200 words.


  • The manuscript should be aligned and justified.
  • Abstract should not exceed 250 words preferably.
  • Total words of title and keywords must be between 4 to 15.
  • The length of the manuscript must be between 4000-5000 words.
  • Figures, tables and boxes should be numbered consecutively in numeral, (e.g.; Figure 1, Figure 2, and Table 1, Table 2, etc.).
  • There should be at least one corresponding author whose name, Email ID and affiliation should be mentioned.
  • Only ONE co-authorship allowed for those authors who also contribute as a principal investigator in the same issue.


Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
